άκ02: Sonorous Bodies
02/08/2017
Sophie Fetokaki, Andria Nicodemou, Emiddio Vasquez

Taking sonority as its main compositional concept, this performance looks at what makes a body sonorous and, in return, how bodies and techniques extend their own sonorities.

Starting from the human voice as a primary body (Fetokaki) paired with an idiophonic body (Nicodemou), the performers freely improvise and “excite” the third intermediary body of the gallery space which feeds back onto the room itself through multiple speakers (Vasquez).

In doing so, at least sonically, the traditional division of bodies (subject/object) slowly begin to dissolve and is replaced with a multiple one whose boundaries constantly morph and shift.
